What is Laser Lipo?
It's The latest breakthrough in Fat Reduction
At Susan Brookes Clinic, you can now get the effects of Laser Liposuction, without having to undergo surgery.
The treatment is called Laser Lipo and is a real scientific breakthrough in fat reduction.
So What is Laser Lipo?
Laser Lipo is the latest technological breakthrough in fat reduction. It is a technique that removes fat deposits in specific areas of the body. Using a laser system which breaks down the membranes of the fat cells, the fats are eliminated by the body in by natural processes.
It is a minimally invasive treatment which helps the body to re-model and gives rise to a more harmonious body shape over a short period.
How does Laser Lipo work?
It makes use of a laser that works on the fat cells by destroying the membrane and releasing fatty and oily deposits. The laser pulses are released through a fiber-optic that is inserted through a thin cannula into the fat layer of the skin. It is also known as Laser Lipolysis. How long does Laser Lipo Treatment take?
At the Susan Brookes Clinic, Laser Lipo treatment takes as little as 20 minutes per area. On average 1.5 to 2 hours are spent in the clinic, depending on the size of the areas treated. This time includes preparation and after-care.
What is the Recovery period for Laser Lipo and are there after effects?
Patients can return to their normal activities almost immediately. In some cases patients may even return to work on the day of the treatment! It is advisable to avoid strenuous sports for ten days although light exercise is acceptable. Intense massage is not recommended for 4 weeks.
Compared to other more invasive procedures, such as liposuction, Laser Lipolysis is much less traumatic and it coagulates any small blood vessels as it goes along, thus reducing any bruising or swelling.
How long does it take to see the results of Laser Lipo?
Improvements in the outline, regularity and tone of the skin can be expected to appear gradually. Results start to become visible within days, especially if aspiration (suction) has been opted for. On average, the final contouring effects become most apparent in about 3-4 months.
How long does the effects of Laser Lipo Last?
Fat cells are permanently destroyed through the laser system and the fats are eliminated in a natural manner. The effect is long term - the fat cells cannot grow again. Of course, the benefits would become less noticeable if weight is gained after the treatment. The treatment cannot prevent weight gain or the accumulation of fat deposits in other areas of the body. If we consume more calories then we need, then our body has to store it somewhere. But if the body weight remains stable, so does the contouring effect of Laser Lipolysis.
Laser Lipo is a very effective treatment but, like any weight loss program, a sensible diet and lifestyle is necessary to maintain condition and shape.
How many Laser Lipo Treatments will I need?
In most cases one treatment will achieve the desired effect. If substantial amounts of fat are to be removed, a stepped program is advised to allow for gradual reshaping. Fat can be reduced in almost any part of the body. The number of treatments needed much depends on the amount of fat to be removed, and the number of areas of the body to be treated. It should be remembered, however, that Laser Lipolysis is not a way of losing weight. Think of it as a way of sculpting your body shape rather than of making it weigh less.
What if I want more treatment?
If further reduction is desired on the same area, more treatment can be carried out 4 months after the initial session. If treatment is required on a different area, it can begin two weeks after a previous treatment.
Are there any side or after effects of Laser Lipo Treatment?
In the majority of cases there are no significant side effects. Occasionally, however, there may be mild discomfort, temporary bruising, or mild swelling or reddening of the skin around the area of treatment.
Does Laser Lipo hurt?
Laser Lipolysis is minimally invasive and is administered under a local anaesthetic. There may be a sensation of tugging and some minor stinging or discomfort but this is minimal.
What are its advantages of Laser Lipo over regular Liposuction?
- Less anaesthetic is used.
- The procedure is safer
- The patient will experience less discomfort and bruising after the treatment.
- The recovery period is much shorter.
- Laser Lipolysis also causes the overlying skin to contract more fully, giving a better final appearance.
